Members Liability Insurance Scheme
This insurance provides liability cover whilst an individual is participating in any golfing activity either at the member’s own course or temporarily elsewhere.
The limit under the policy is £5m each and every claim. This unusually high personal liability limit helps to ensure that in the event of a successful personal injury claim being brought against a member there is sufficient funds to meet the legal costs and subsequent compensation.
The scheme also has a 'good neighbour' cover whereby in the event a member accidentally causes damage to third party property, insurers make good the damage up to a limit of £10,000 irrespective of legal liability.
In doing so it assists the club in maintaining good relations with its neighbours.
