The Golf Society Liability Insurance Scheme was
specifically developed to provide liability cover for the society and its members.

This insurance provides an affordable solution to meet a Society’s insurance needs. 

SUMMARY OF COVER
Personal Liability
Relates to a situation where a member of the Society, as a result of his actions on the golf course, causes injury to another person or damage to third party property.
If the member is held to be legally liable for his actions, compensation may be payable to the injured party.
This insurance will pay up to £2,000,000 in connection with any one incident plus any other costs, expenses and solicitor’s fees. 

A recent Court of Appeal case highlights the need to have this cover. A golf ball was deflected off a tree and hit a fellow golfer in the eye. The injured man was standing some eighty yards away at the time. Although the golfer who played the shot shouted “fore”, this was not deemed a satisfactory defence and he was held to be legally liable for his actions. 

Accidental Damage (Good Neighbour Cover)
Provides cover for accidental damage to third party property without the need for negligence having to be established by the owner e.g. slicing a tee shot which breaks a car windscreen or causes damage to neighbouring property. In the event of you having the misfortune of causing accidental damage to third party property insurers will pay up to £10,000 to make good the damage, without dispute. 

Society Liability Cover 
In the event a claim is brought against the Society for causing injury to an individual or damage to third party property, whether on the golf course or at some other Society held event, insurers will provide cover up to £2,000,000 plus any other costs, expenses and solicitors fees.

Personal Accident Benefit
Will pay a capital benefit of £5,000 to a member should he, as a result of an accident on the golf course, lose a limb, sight, or become permanently and totally disabled. In the event of death the benefit would be made to his legal personal representative.  

There is no excess under any section of this policy.
